sales person or a shoe polisher?

Today I’m really fuming mad with this sales colleague. Konon title is Key account exec but to me he is more like a bloody snake. 2 mths back I gave him a timeline to find and get some contacts back for me. until today he still has none. When I asked him whether did he even go out and look for contacts, he has the guts to tell me no after giving me a lot of excuses while trying to cover up his ass.
So after that I went and approach my boss and told him “I got problem with him” and explain the whole situation. My boss was kinda understanding and spoke to him. But when he came out from my boss room, he stopped by my place and said “I think you have misunderstand” and so I told him that he should be more initiative and blah blah blah…..anyway, my boss asked my to pass the ball back to him and he should take on from there.
Then my boss smiled at me.

When I was launching a new product last mth, I was checking with him whether has he approached his buyer about this new product, whether there are any additional space, and other normal question that as even a non-sales person may ask if he/she has the interest to know whether the product will be launched successfully. So each time I asked him, he will answer me the same answer like it were programmed in his head to answer “I’ll check with buyer”. So I told him some of the decision you can make on your own and also be initiative and propose to customer instead of checking with the buyer all the time. So he looked at me with his ‘blur’ and ‘dungu’ look and replied me “ok ok, I’ll check with buyer”

When you asked him something he doesn’t know, he just say he dunno. Not even an initiative to say he will find out and get back to me. To him by answering ‘No’ it means that he will leave it as it is until you have another instruction for him to follow. Which in the end he’s too lazy to even bother to do.

He is a newly recruit about 2mths already. Being new, he only has 1 account to handle with only a few stores. And the rest is to build up another business which the co. just acquired. I mean he has plenty of free time. So my boss has asked him to take on another account which I’m currently handling. I’m a marketing person not a sales person and yet I brought back sales which goes under him and yet he doesn’t bother to even raised the PO for that customer. It’s like money falling from the sky and yet he’s too lazy to pick it up

He is already 35 yrs old with 1 kid Don’t understand how did he ever get a job as a sales person?? Or should I say as a Key account. Full of excuses & BS. Maybe he's a shoe polisher....

does he report to you? if yes, then need to sit down and run thru his KRA/ KPIs lor...said, if still like that, cannot confirm ler. he is a sales person, if cant bring in sales, what else to do? sack him lor..hehhehe

he doesn't report to me. tat's y i dun want to tell him off directly so i go to my boss first and let my boss kao tim him. cos my boss is sort of like his mentor until the new sales mgr comes in
