Mahjong fever
Hubby has the sudden craze in Mahjong lately….worse than ‘si lai-s’ (aunties which has too much time). So we went around looking for mahjong table in sea park but were surprised that 2 of the furniture shop that we went to has sold out all their tables…..so we went to Paramount to try our luck to buy a mahjong set……
I din know that mahjong sets were sold in shops selling tailoring stuffs like zips, buttons, cloth. So anyway, we went in to ask how much does a set cost. The uncle took out 2 mahjong sets which were kinda dusty and said it would cost RM 220…..the uncle continue to say that this is Malaysian made and not from China. Of course I told hubby that it is expensive. It’s not really a good quality set judging from the weight and the workmanship of the tiles, we decided not to buy it.
While we were walking away from the shop, a lady called us. She was actually in the same shop buying mahjong chips and mat and have obviously overheard our conversation with the uncle. She told us luckily we din buy it as it is very expensive and she has a similar set which cost half the price which she has bought from Malacca. Looking at our hesitancy, she said we are not obligated to buy. Just have a look and if we dun like it, we dun hafta buy. So we thought no harm having a look. Went to her car and saw the set and the price was RM 100 if we buy it. What the heck, at least we din go back empty handed
