The 2 sides of Hong Kong

HK has 2 different faces. On one end the ppl in shopping malls, office workers, big restaurant are more courteous & friendly. On the other end, there’s these street ppl, which can be conniving and scrupulous.
I will quote 2 different scene here
1) Courteous & friendly side
Went to a retail outlet to look around for clothes to buy. Staff say ‘Welcome’ & ‘ Come again’ when you step in and step out from the shop

2) Ugly side
Went to Mongkok, lui yan kai (women street). It was raining and me & a colleague decided to pop in a coffee shop to have a drink while waiting for the rain to stop. We clearly indicated to the shopowner that we wanted to drink only. So she ushered us in to have a seat. But at the same time she keep asking us what we want to eat which we told her that we wanted to just have a drink. So she said we need to go to the counter to order. So we ordered our drinks and the moment the shop owner places the drinks on the tray, she said you need to order food if you want to drink here. I wanted to walk away but I feared that they will come after me with a butcher knife. So I was cursing under my breath when I ordered the food. Luckily it was some cheap snacks if it is anything above HK$15 for that f%$#@ing food I would have left for good.

And a word to take note. Do not shop and women street cos u will get slaughtered
